Narrowband Light Emitting Diodes for optimal photo-biomodulation of cells.
The light therapy is non-invasive, non ablative and safe for patients. The lights stimulates cells athermally without causing damage to the epidermis or dermal tissue, therefore there is no downtime for the patients or side effects. The wavelengths of the blue light is specifically designed to stimulate the porphyrins into synthesising intracellular singlet oxygen – inducing bacterial and virus death and so eradicating inflammation. The wavelength of the red light minimises production of the pro inflammatory cytokine. This anti-inflammatory effect reduces erythema. Red light therapy has been clinically proven to stimulate fibroblasts, therefore enhancing collagen production and turnover in the skin and resulting in healthier, rejuvenated skin.
Number of inflammatory lesions continues to reduce after 16 weeks of treatment. More than 75% of patients respond with excellent results.
It usually takes around 2 to 16 weeks for the area to heal completely, depending on which part of the body has been treated and how big the area is. It also depends on how strong the reaction was, as reactions vary depending on the amount of diseased skin being treated and individual variability in response.

You will need to be completely out of the sun for 48 hours after treatment. Your skin will be sensitive to sunlight. That means no driving, walking, or being outside for even a few minutes at a time. Wear sunscreen SPF 30 or higher and avoid direct sun exposure while you are healing which can take up to a few weeks. High potency sunscreens with zinc oxide can protect from visible light which is beneficial after PDT. The chemicals used in PDT treatments can linger in your skin for several days and protection from visible light remains important during this time.
There are no known long-term side effects when administered properly. It is usually performed as an outpatient procedure over a short time. PDT can be repeated if necessary. It’s non invasive.
If the treated area is on your face, wear a wide-brimmed hat. After 48 hours (2 days), continue to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 on the treated area containing zinc oxide.

Blue and red light are different types of light. The difference between these lights are depth of penetration on the skin.
